How-To...

Lacrosse is not an easy game to just pick it. It takes time and lots of practice. If it were easy, everybody would be doing it!

Below is a guide for new players looking to pick up the game and for returning players interested in a refresher. As always, if you have questions, ask a coach or a teammate!

There are four basic fundamental skills all players must have, the ability to:
  1. Scoop
  2. Cradle
  3. Throw
  4. Catch

The better the ability of the player to master these skills with both hands, the better the player will be.

Instructions on each of these skills will be posted soon. In the meantime, check out these links for more information.

Education World Lacrosse Lesson Plan - An excellent how-to guide on the above four skills.

Lacrosse Forums - A forum thread on cradling

Inside Lacrosse Videos - Carefully watch some of these videos to see how the pros have mastered the above four fundamental skills.
